The festival is seeking a Marketing Director on a one-year term with potential for extension. The role will begin on October 16th, 2017. Applications will be accepted until the role is filled. 


Marketing Director 

Summary of the Position

This person will have a strong line of communication and collaboration working under the supervision of the Artistic Director. The ideal candidate for this position will have extensive knowledge and understanding of digital marketing, and a proven track record generating quantifiable results. They are creative, efficient, and diligent with the ability to manage a number of tasks and projects simultaneously, while maintaining high standards. Working with a team of experienced agencies and contractors, the Marketing Director will manage all marketing and communications functions of the festival. The ideal candidate would have some familiarity with the music industry and a keen interest in new artists and the local music community.

Administration:

  • Ensure filing and record systems are maintained and up-to-date
  • Ensure protection and security of files and records

Finance:

  • Assesses and confirms financial figures
  • Marketing budget planning and management
  • Producing accurate reports to specific deadlines

Marketing and Promotions:

  • Foster audience development and create communications plans that will inspire engagement
  • Develop key community partnerships and media relationships
  • Manage six separate marketing, web publicity, design, and video production agencies
  • Represent the festival through media interviews and publicity
  • Oversee digital ecosystem, including website, mobile app integration, social media campaigns and management, digital strategies, and email marketing
  • Develop and implement extensive marketing and promotional plan throughout Saskatchewan and into Western Canada
  • Oversee advertising campaign including print and online initiatives and design
  • Coordination of events and activities including receptions, artist interviews, and meet and greets
  • Plan and execute strategic marketing initiatives with key partners
  • Research and develop new sponsorship, marketing, and promotional initiatives
  • Create digital and print marketing collateral

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Expertise with all things digital, including (but not limited to) social media, content marketing, email marketing, and digital advertising
  • Excellent project management skills and the ability to work with multiple agencies and contractors
  • Experience maintaining and growing an email database
  • Excellent public speaking skills and comfort in speaking to the media (live and pre-recorded)
  • Excellent written communication skills
  • Ability to represent the festival on various committees as needed (i.e. Tourism Saskatoon, Remai Modern)
  • Graphic design experience is a must
  • Ability to adapt quickly
  • Expertise with Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and Snapchat
  • Expertise with Adobe PhotoShop, Illustrator, and InDesign
  • Basic knowledge of HubSpot COS (Content Optimization System)
  • Excellent interpersonal skills

Education, Experience, Characteristics, and Core Competencies

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor degree in business, marketing, or humanities and minimum 3 years of experience in marketing and communications
  • Excellent understanding of finance and operational management
  • Experienced team leader
  • Proven record for performance with successfully achieving goals
  • Proficient computer experience

Job Type:                  Part Time/Full Time

Status:                       Maternity Leave Term - Up to One Year (with the possibility of extension)
