Saskatoon Youth Jazz Orchestra
Since its inception in 2017 the Saskatoon Youth Jazz Orchestra has provided a valuable stepping-stone for aspiring young musicians. Due in large part to the commitment of the board of directors of the Saskatoon Jazz Orchestra to ensuring this musical art form is carried forward, the SYJO provides an opportunity for committed young musicians between the ages of 14 & 22 from Saskatoon and area to pursue musical excellence together. In addition to performing at many of the concerts presented by the Saskatoon Jazz Orchestra, the SYJO has performed at the Bassment with the U of S Jazz Ensemble, TCU’s Evening to Remember on New Year’s Eve for 3 years running, and the 2023 Heritage Festival of Saskatoon, as well as serving as an opening act at the Bassment.
