LEARN // Festival fave Dallas Green talks skateboarding, TMZ and what he thinks of Saskatoon in this exclusive #saskjazz interview!

SaskTel Saskatchewan Jazz Festival: If you could only listen to three albums for the rest of your life, what would they be?
DG: 1. Alice in Chains — Dirt
2. Sade — Love Deluxe
3. Elliot — False Cathedrals

SSJF: What did 10-year old you want to be when you grew up?
DG: Probably a sponsored skateboarder (that’s what I still want to be) because it was my first real love.

SSJF: How would you describe ‘high school you’ in three words?
DG: Pretty Nice Guy

SSJF: One person you were surprised to find out is a fan?
DG: Anyone, really.

SSJF: What, if anything, is your most treasured possession?
DG: I have an old 1944 Martin acoustic guitar that my late friend dan achen bought for me. Out of many prized possessions that I’m lucky enough to have, that’s it.

SSJF: Why do you live where you do?
DG: I live in Toronto because it was close to where I grew up and it’s where my wife lived. Other than that I haven’t really lived in one place since I was 21.

SSJF: What do you think of when you think of Saskatoon?
DG: I think of a wonderful time. I’ve always had one when I’m there.

SSJF: What has been your most memorable or inspirational gig and why?
DG: Too many to count or pick just one. I’m so very lucky to have been given the chance to sing my songs for people all over the world. Something I’m still shocked by to this day.

SSJF: What has been your strangest celebrity encounter?
DG: No TMZ info coming from me haha

SSJF: If you weren’t playing music you would be…
DG: Trying to play music for a living.
